I am going to write my own WordPress Plugin (from scratch).

I am wondering if anyone here has had any experience doing this and if they can offer any suggestions.

I have been looking for some sort of comprehensive list of all the "hooks", "Filters" and "actions" and what they are used for.

The area I want to focus on is this. I want to add some additional fields for new users. In addition to a username and email address, I want to have more fields. I want to require that more information be inputted.

Maybe such a plug-in already exists or perhaps something simular. Does this sound familiar?

I'm not sure if this is something that will be addressed, I may be the only one trying to combine the two plugins, but I thought I'd put up a notification of it

It seems that Role Scoper does not play nice with the Form Tools WP plugin, I'd love to be able to use both, however I'm not sure I can.

When I activate both plugins at the same time, I receive the error:
"Role Scoper cannot operate because another plugin or theme has already declared the function "set_current_user" or forced early execution of "pluggable.php"."

I'm not sure if there is a workaround to this, if there is, I'd be forever grateful to anyone who can point me in the right direction. I don't want this post to sound like a complaint by any means, I just about live off Form Tools these days on projects. I'd like to continue using the WP plugin, if the plugins are truly incompatible however, I'll train my client on the real Form Tools backend.

Thanks to anyone who can offer assistance

Ben,

I'm curious about the permissions in your new plugin. In the quick documentation it says that Form tools users can be mapped to Wordpress users so that they can view subsets of forms.

My question here is, do the formtools users have to exist beforehand?

What I'm getting at is suppose I want to use formtools as my backend processor of data that comes from incoming forms. However, all of my frontend is done with Wordpress.

If my users all sign up to become Wordpress Users, then can they automatically create Formtools users? Or vice versa, can wordpress users automatically become formtools users?

Thanks!
This initial version is pretty basic: it offers a limited subset of Form Tools functionality within Wordpress. So if you really feel that some features should be implemented over others, let me know!
