Folder missing in install /formtools/ - detaylor12 - Jun 10th, 2011 I have loaded the package onto my web server and the install went fine. I had to do the manual Config.php file but other than that no errors came up. I can log in if I add the folder (/formtools/and the index.php. It seems to accept the login but then the 404 error comes up. The url address showing is http://www.psmconsulting.org/admin/forms but the no page found error is there. It seems during the install it does not keep the formtools directory in the install script. As it cannot find the files none of the graphics show up during login either. This is on a Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit machine. RE: Folder missing in install /formtools/ - Ben - Jun 12th, 2011 Hi detaylor12, It sounds like something went wrong downloading or unzipping the package. I just tested out all the download files, custom build script & alpha build, and all of them properly include the /install folder. Maybe try downloading or unzipping your file again. Let me know if you continue to have trouble! - Ben RE: Folder missing in install /formtools/ - detaylor12 - Jun 12th, 2011 Ok, I probably didn't explain the problem correctly. I unzipped the file and then created a folder on my domain called formtools and loaded the cotents of the folder out to the domain. Then I ran the install and it installed the program and built the database tables. It ran to the finish. I then deleted the install files from the formtools folder on the domain. When I try to run it, I can not log in as it cant seem to find the password. The screen is blank with no images just the red X in the box. It is like it is not connecting to the folders correctly. The url for the login seems right ( http://www.psmconsulting.org/formtools/index.php ) but it says the passwords don't match but it is the password that I had just entered into the install program. I cut and pasted it. from the same location. RE: Folder missing in install /formtools/ - detaylor12 - Jun 12th, 2011 Ok, I probably didn't explain the problem correctly. RE: Folder missing in install /formtools/ - hellothere - Jun 13th, 2011 FWIW, I had a similar problem yesterday, no matter how many times I entered the password, it would not allow me to access the admin. I deleted the tables in the database and ran the installer script again. Once I got the config file set up, I deleted the entire install folder. then I flushed my browsers cache, and the first time I tried the admin login, it worked. your problem seems slightly different, but maybe that sequence described above might help? RE: Folder missing in install /formtools/ - Ben - Jun 17th, 2011 Hey guys, Strange... this is with 2.0.6 or the 2.1.0 Beta? When you copy & paste, could you make sure it's not including an extra space at the end? This often happens to me. Maybe try typing in the passwords manually, or pasting the text into notepad/textedit & highlighting it to make sure there's no extra space. What about the password/username themselves: do they contain weird characters like dollar signs? Honestly, any character should be fine, though... Well, you can always reset the administrator password, I suppose (a little onerous, though, considering you just installed the script!) http://docs.formtools.org/tutorials/resetting_admin_password/ - Ben |
