Return URL Query String - 2x4 - May 18th, 2009
Ben,
Haven't checked the Beta yet, but presuming no change from 1.5+ as the return URL query string goes (passing data)...
The normal way for a query string is ?key=value&key=value... etc.
However, quite a few MVC based application have it /value/value/value... etc.
It would be nice if there was a switch (radio button maybe) that would select the proper method of formatting the return URL query string for passing data.
I do it manually with 1.5+, either I use a file that has the regular QS, or the MVC type, depending on the site configuration, but it is a *hack*. ;-)
It shouldn't be a biggie to address this, I think.

Interesting...! I haven't heard of passing the data in that way before. How is the information made sense of without specifying the key? value/value/value wouldn't let you know what information is in each section.
Is this way of passing the info along standardized?

Ben, the keys are defined in the application controller. Of course, that implies that the order matters. (The FT does it anyway based on the order of the pairs defined in the last step of form config).
And yes, it is a standardized way of passing the info in the MVC OOP. It is also a cleaner way to pass info, evidently. ;-)
