I am an idiot...! - Mrs Patel - Feb 15th, 2012 I was working on one of of my websites without watching what I was doing. I was working on one of my websites without backing up any of the websites and managed to deleted the whole formtools folder from my main website. Panic time! I threw together a quick backup by simply installing on old back up copy of the site or at least an old copy of the whole formtools folder. That patched thing while I calmed down. This morning I put in a whole new copy of forms tools and ... to my happy surprise all the old database was recognised. At this point I would like to add. I am somewhat computer literate. But I do not work in IT and have a minimum of an idea what I am doing and that formtools stretches my capabilities. I was very happy when it all still worked. So I created this user account to say a big thank you to the creator/s of formtools. You do a great job, even though some of the users are idiots.... RE: I am an idiot...! - Ben - Feb 17th, 2012 Haha Excellent! I'm very glad it still worked though. The trick is the /global/config.php file: if that file still contains the correct database and path information, you can always wipe out all your files and still get the script to return to where it was. Just one word of warning: if you have any file upload fields that were uploading to a folder within the Form Tools folder (/uploads for example), they may not be recoverable. Just a heads up. All the best! - Ben |
