Validation for MIN characters and ALLCAPS entry ? - ITZAP - Jun 21st, 2012

Just purchased and installed your "Form Builder" software package for a client who wishes to move toward a paperless Office Administration system.

First I must say WOW, so glad we found Form Tools ! Very well thought out and looks like this will deliver the complete solution for my client. Compliments to you. However, can I please ask a few questions ?

Using Form Builder module and the "ProSimple Template" Multi-Tab form.

Q1) For some text fields, we need to set a MIN number of characters/numbers. Can set a MAX length validation rule (good), but not a MIN length ? How can we do that please ?

Q2) Also would like to have some field entries formatted and saved as ALL CAPITAL letters, even if the User enters lower case. This is specifically required for a vehicle VIN number field, letters and numbers. Is this possible ?

==> Searching your site, I suspect the answer might be to purchase the "Custom Field" module. But can I create those simple custom validation rules fairly easily using that ?

Q3) Testing our first ProSimple template form, when we reach the "Review" tab, all details entered using Drop-Downs, Radio Buttons or Checkboxes do not appear on that page. But they are saved into the database just fine. Is that usual ?

Q4) Opening the Form webpage and then quitting without entering anything at all still causes an ID number to be used in the form database ?

Q5) After deleting all test entries in a Form database, is there a way to reset the ID numbers back to 1 ?

Many thanks for any assistance. Expect we will use Form Tools extensively into the future.

Now solved. Found the previous thread http://forums.formtools.org/showthread.php?tid=987&highlight=reset+ID
And "Submission ID Manager" module http://modules.formtools.org/submission_id_manager/
