I am a noob here, but have been playing with a php/mysql ecommerce (ZC) for some time. Using ZC, I have several complex forms constructed on the fly from php files drawn from language, template and module folders, as well as several jscript files that largely serve to populate country and state fields, to capitalise certain entries, and a few other things. ATM, upon sending, the forms do nothing more than send emails to me and the respondant. However I want the information written to a separate DB, such as that with formtools, for further processing.
So I am searching for guidance on whether formtools is suitable for forms constructed on the fly from various php/jscript files, and if so, where to include all the formtools code bits.
If the form must be one php file, is it possible to convert source code for a form page into a php file. If so, guidance on doing this would be appreciated.
Otherwise, I gather the forms will have to be rewritten.

Doesn't matter how your browser gets the html that makes up a form.
It can be simple or complex like yours. Form Tools doesn't care either. It is for the most part a simple application that receives and manages name=value pairs that it gets via the http post method.
If your forms(s) consist of multiple form submissions, Form Tools handles that too.
