Support for different type of Clients - odyssease - Jun 10th, 2013

Dear FormTools,

I am using FormTools (2.2.5) and I was wondering if the current implementation is capable of the following.

I need to distinguish two types of clients (clients as are used on Form Tools).
The first group of clients must be able to to submit forms but I don't want them to be able to view what other clients submitted.
The other group of clients must be able to view everything that the first group submited but without the ability to edit or delete the submissions.

I work in a company which currently exchanges several kind of forms with several associates (first group of clients). Within the company there is a department which receives those forms and uses the data. (second group of clients).

I tried to accomplish the above using the views but was unable to. I hope what I wrote makes sense. If you need more details regarding my case please ask. Any help will be appreciated

Thank you.

RE: Support for different type of Clients - Joe - Jun 11th, 2013

Hi there,

You can accomplish this by creating "Read Only" views for the first group of clients and an identical view that is has read / write permission.

- Go to your Form and click edit icon
- View tab
- Create your view (this one will be read / write)

Read Only View
- Add a new view, select the previous view that you created with the "Based On" drop down
- Edit this new view in the General tab
- Select "No" May add submissions
- Select "No" May delete Submissions

Assign the views to the clients in the Forms section. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Joe
