17 November 2011, my son had someone test drive his car that he was selling. The person test driving my sons car wrote the car off. My son had to be cut free from the vehicle, was in ICU for 12 days, spending 50+ days in hospital. The driver has never been formally charged for the incident as he has since fled the country. The case was set before the Darwin Magistrates Court 05th July 2012 and the driver failed to appear. The case was adjourned for 3 weeks and again the driver failed to appear. It was determined, the driver was never issued with a warrant to appear - neglect on the NT Police. ACA became involved October 2012 after a snippet of Territory Cops was aired, showing the MVA my son was involved in. Nearly 2 years post MVA, nothing has been done regarding extradition we were verbally informed of, and the driver is allegedly in Finland living life whilst my son is still going through rigorous therapy and medical treatment.
