Problems logging in after upgrading core - frostyintrepid - Mar 4th, 2009 Hi Ben, After uploading the generated files, I am unable to login to the backend at http://registrations.ssamonthlyshoot.com It just shows me a blank page! TIA! RE: Problems logging in after upgrading core - Ben - Mar 4th, 2009 Eesh, that aint good. Try re-uploading the files that were in the upgrade file. Most likely, one or more didn't make the trip from your computer to the server in one piece. - Ben RE: Problems logging in after upgrading core - frostyintrepid - Mar 4th, 2009 I have tried to upload the upgrade files and even the entire formtool folder but it still doesn't work. Any other solutions? Urgently need to get it up! (Mar 4th, 2009, 2:43 PM)admin Wrote: Eesh, that aint good. Try re-uploading the files that were in the upgrade file. RE: Problems logging in after upgrading core - Ben - Mar 4th, 2009 I don't suppose it would be possible for you to set me up with temporary FTP access so I could log on and take a look? If not, no worries. Could you email me the download file that was generated? I'd like to take a look at it. - Ben RE: Problems logging in after upgrading core - frostyintrepid - Mar 4th, 2009 Just emailed you through the forum! Curious... so did you delete anything from the server before overwriting the files, or just uploaded the contents from the upgrade file? The reason I ask is that there's a LOT of files missing from your /global folder - including your all-important config.php file. I don't suppose you have a backup of that file? If not, no worries, we can reconstruct it - it's just easier to go from a backup. Also, did you move Form Tools from one location to another (even with the subdomains) or is this the same location where it was originally installed? RE: Problems logging in after upgrading core - frostyintrepid - Mar 4th, 2009 hmm no I didn't remove any of the files. but I did get my server host to delete the themes folder as there were some permission issues. Formtools was originally installed in that registrations subdomain. (Mar 4th, 2009, 6:07 PM)admin Wrote: Thanks! RE: Problems logging in after upgrading core - Ben - Mar 4th, 2009 Very strange! If you like, email me your DB info + the database prefix you chose, and I'll reconstruct the config.php file & upload the new files. RE: Problems logging in after upgrading core - frostyintrepid - Mar 4th, 2009 Email Sent! (Mar 4th, 2009, 7:15 PM)admin Wrote: Very strange! RE: Problems logging in after upgrading core - Ben - Mar 4th, 2009 Hey Frosty, All fixed. Bottom line is I don't know WHAT happened, but there were a great deal of missing files on your FT installation. I've recreated them all and it seems to be working fine. Next time you upgrade, do this: backup the entire folder (i.e. the entire contents of the registrations.ssamonthlyshoot.com subdomain) first, then try upgrading as per the instructions. If this problem crops up again, let me know and I'll take another look at it. It's almost as though when the new files + folders were uploaded, the server chose to completely remove all the other files + folders, instead of just overwriting the ones that have changed. Weirdness! |
