Sending emails to client and user confusion - antonitus - Feb 7th, 2009 Hi, There seems to be some confusion with emails being sent once a form is submitted. From the standard version 1.x, there seems to be an option to send a submission copy to the client or admin as well as the form being sent to the user. But in this beta version (v2.0.0-beta-20090131), I cannot see an option to do this. Instead I can create and send the exact copy to another recipient. The 1.x version seems to handle this more better. Or am I doing something wrong? Regards, antonitus RE: Sending emails to client and user confusion - Ben - Feb 7th, 2009 Nope - that's exactly right. The new version doesn't have that checkbox - I thought it was a bit klutzy. It's done in a slightly different way. In the email template, add the administrator as a recipient in the Recipients tab. You can add as many recipients in that field as you'd like. 1, 2, 5, 10, 100000000 - doesn't matter! (well, okay, perhaps 100000000 wouldn't work...). Let me know if I'm not clear on anything. Good questions! - Ben RE: Sending emails to client and user confusion - antonitus - Feb 26th, 2009 I noticed that and I eventually sussed it out, although I do like the 1.x version one too, I suppose I got used to it. This beta version is totally different to the 1.x version and it takes some time to get used to. But saying this, it is much more powerful and it's quite an exciting script, I can't wait to set it up properly. I have another issue which works well in the 1.x version but not this one, I'll send a different thread for this issue. Thanks, antonitus RE: Sending emails to client and user confusion - Ben - Feb 26th, 2009 Thanks, Antonitus. Do you find the entire script different, or just the new email functionality? I'm hoping that FT1 users will find the script largely familiar in its core features - but it's always hard to put oneself in other people's shoes, so who knows what people will think! The new email templates is completely different, you're quite right. As you noted, it's waaaay more powerful, and to my mind, more logically laid out. Of course, you're welcome to disagree! Any ideas you may have on making the UI easier to understand are very welcome! RE: Sending emails to client and user confusion - antonitus - Feb 26th, 2009 The entire script is mainly different in terms of overall layout and positioning of functions. Logically, it has similarities to FT1. The layout and functionalities for those that are in FT1 are just differently laid out in this beta version, but the idea is fairly the same and you just have to get used it. Obviously, for those who have never used FT1 will not have this issue. I'm still evaluating the other parts and as soon as I get an issue that is necessary for me to be resolved (I sent a separate thread for this), I will let you know about the rest of it. But overall, I like it a lot and you have done an excellent job. Regards, Tony |
