Check box determines where the data is submitted - jak - Sep 25th, 2010 First of all, I am PHP illiterate. I am more of a designer than a developer, so finding Form Tools was like finding the Holy Grail. I've searched hoping to find an answer to my problem to no avail. I'm desperately hoping to find an answer as my deadline is this Monday for a demo. I am not using the API. Scenario: I have one form with various fields and checkboxes. - My client wishes to have the submitted data go to a specifically named form that will store the submissions so that they may segment the data by location as opposed to it going to one. Question: Can I have the data submit to a certain form/view depending upon which checkbox is checked? Please let me know if I am being unclear. Thanks in advance for any help you may provide! RE: Check box determines where the data is submitted - Ben - Sep 25th, 2010 Hi Jak, Welcome to the forums! Quote:Question: Can I have the data submit to a certain form/view depending upon which checkbox is checked? Sure, no problem! Having it being submitted to a particular View is definitely easier than having it sent to a particular form, so I'd suggest that approach. You can modify any View to filter submissions based on the content in any form submission field. Give this page a read-through: http://docs.formtools.org/userdoc/?page=standard_filters Basically, in your case, you'd add a Standard Filter to your View that tells it to only show submissions that had value "X" or "Y" (or whatever) in that field. Hope this kind of helps - Ben RE: Check box determines where the data is submitted - jak - Sep 25th, 2010 (Sep 25th, 2010, 12:18 PM)Ben Wrote: Hi Jak, RE: Check box determines where the data is submitted - jak - Sep 26th, 2010 Just wanted to say thank you very much, Ben! You have been an immense help. It went quite smoothly except the the checkboxes are not showing up in the exported Excel document. When I checked the fields associates to it I got This field has not been assigned to a field option group. Forgive my ignorance but I don't know what that means exactly. Going to have to figure it out. Thanks again! |
