Sorry you're having trouble. There are so many different variables with sending emails & SMTP configurations, that these things are really hard to debug. But one likely cause is that some SMTP servers don't like it when you use a "from" address that they don't recognize. Some of them prevent emails being sent from "From" email addresses that aren't configured for them, to ward against it being used for phishing.
But honestly, I'd ask your hosting provider - or whoever you're using as your SMTP provider. They may well have some documentation on things that must be satisfied in order to use the email properly.
