process.php is not receiving any data

I've searched the forum for this problem but found nothing, so I'm creating a new post.

All of the sudden, my formtools installation started showing this error when a form was submitted.

process.php is not receiving any data. Note: this script cannot be loaded directly in your browser.
Make sure your form is sending via POST.

The form was working properly for over 12 months. I've tried updating formtools via the update link in the admin section's header, but that just displays a blank, red error box...

Has anyone else seen this before?
