Disable Ability to Change Username

Hello,

Two hopefully easy features that I would love to see.

First, I would like the ability to disallow clients the ability to change their username.

Second, on the client list, it would be helpful of company was displayed instead of email address.

Just my personal opinions. Those features would be helpful for me.

Hi Prig,

yes, nice features...

until there is a solution for it you might think about to remove the account settings completely from the clients menu...(?)

You also can try to manually remove/hide the "user name" input field from the account settings template so that it will not be visible for the clients...
Since it only need to be setup once you may want to give it a try...

Please post if you have a (temporary) solution you can work with.

I wanted to do this same thing, and I found a solution that I believe does the trick for me. There may be a better way, but I edited themes/default/clients/account/tab_main.tpl, changing

<td><input type="text" name="username" value="{$client_info.username}" size="25" /></td>

to

<td><input type="text" name="username" readonly="readonly" value="{$client_info.username}" size="25" /></td>

Incidentally, I'm running version 2.2.6. Hope that helps.
