same_as email comparison

Believe it or not. As long as I have been coding sites I have never done a field comparison and I cannot get it work correctly. I am using FT java validation and the code is as follows:

rules.push("required,email,Please enter your email address.");
rules.push("valid_email,email,Please enter a valid email address.");
rules.push("same_as,email2,Please Check your Email Address.");

the fields in question are:

email
email2
