accents error help please

at the display of the db everything is ok

at the email confirmation accents apears at #$ ??? and something like this .
and exporting to xls get the same error

i ve tried to change the charset at email.php to iso-8859-1 but doenst helped.

well i am using the default function to send emails....


i know that on ft1 i did something that solved that issue, but i can't remember...just found that on tables of db it was at ft1 as latin_general_ci and know they are general_utf8_ci
if is that ...mybe i need to change every collation to latin ? if so how to do that once or it should be one by one?

Hi Oswaldo,

You shouldn't need to change the database table charsets - utf8 *should* work fine - but feel free to give it a go to test it out.

When you look at the database directly via phpMyAdmin (or another tool) do the accents look okay?

It's possible that this is just another PHP mail() idiosyncracy on your server and you'll need to move to use the Swift Mailer module.

and de excel .xls file, now is corrected, adding the line to head (meta...utf-....) at the smarty export manager.
