FT2, running for years. Nothing changed. All of a sudden client calls: can't login. On visiting the installation I get a redirect loop error with any browser I care to throw at it. Any thoughts?

This is a particular annoying issue - I get bit by it from time to time too!
I've found that this can occur if the database information is incorrect - e.g. can't connect to the hostname - or even if the $g_root_dir folder is incorrect. Check your /global/config.php file to see if those values look okay. You might want to send over the MySQL settings in that file over to your hosting provider to ask if they look okay. - Ben

Config has been checked and looks alright to me (unchanged since august 2009). Is there a setting I can add, so I can debug? Or could you help me out? (It's bad for business...) Ok, I reinstalled at my local test-server after encountering the same error on a freshly downloaded 2.04 installation. I reinstalled to a fresh local database. Now I'd like to 'export from remote/import to local' my forms, clients and submissions, so I can transfer my clients to Jotform. Anyone care to advise how to tackle this? Quick update: on importing the remote database and pointing the local install to that database I replicated the redirect problem. So I assume it's safe to say the problem is in the database. This is severe... Update: all clients & forms transferred to jotforms. By hand...thanks & good luck.

I'm so sorry, Nowton. Especially bad timing - I've been swamped all week and couldn't lend a hand.
But I do hope that jotforms works out! - Ben

I had this error once with a fresh installed V2 of formtools.
It disappeared when restarting the browser... It did not bother me since after restarting the browser it keeps working up to now. Don't know what caused it, don't know if it will appear again... Unfortunately I can not help more to track the bug (if there is any at all). Cheers, Hannes

Thanks, Hannes.
Regardless of whether this is actually a bug, I will need to implement better error checking on the login page. Things like getting an invalid DB name or $g_root_dir should be handled elegantly (assuming this, or something simple like it is the cause). - Ben
