Problems after upgrade

Morning Ben,

I just upgraded from 1. something to the latest version and now have a couple of issues, the biggest of which is that I can't seem to log back into form tools!

I have reset the P/W using the encryption tool and pasted that in the MyPHPadmin but no luck. The log in screen just keeps telling me "Sorry, that password does not match." Strangely, no matter how many times I input an invalid P/W it never deactivates the account even though it is set for 3 strikes and you're out!

Before finding the above issue, after the upgrade it seems like all of the views have been deleted for the forms that I had in there. does that sound right that those should have disappeared during the upgrade?

quick update, I wanted to check that forms could still be submitted even though I was having the login issue. Unfortunately I am getting this error when progressing from Step 1 to Steo 2 of a multi page form...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function ft_process_hooks() in /home/globalex/public_html/admin/formtools/global/api/api.php on line 657

Should I try re-uploading the API even though the update package did not include it?

Update: Replacing the api allowed the form to be completed and submitted, but there is still no ability to login. Additionally, the auto email that was sent from From Tools once the form was submitted contained no data from the submitted form, it was just the email text with blanks where the field information would have been.

Sorry you're having trouble!

But just a little clarification: did you upgrade from Form Tools 1.x or from a 2.0.x version? It sounds like the latter...

Check that when you're copying & pasting the content into a field, it doesn't include a trailing space. Browsers can do that sometimes.

Regarding the account deactivation, that's actually only for the client accounts - not the admin.

Yeesh! No, they definitely shouldn't have disappeared. That's a pretty serious error - did you make a backup of the database prior to upgrading?

Regarding the API problem, it sounds like maybe you're running an old version? Check you're using API version 1.1.4.

Thanks for getting back to with me Ben, after some head scratching over the course of the Weekend we really could not figure out what had gone wrong. It was like the front end and the back-end had become disjointed somehow. Anyway, luckily the guys at the server farm were able to restore the original database and files from last Friday so I don't think that I lost anything.

Now I am back to where I was I can tell you that the core version is 2.05 and the API is 1.0.1

That's how it sits right now and it all seems to be working OK once again.

It would be great to have you help us with the upgrade and I also wanted to chat to you about the possibility of doing some custom work for us. I sent an email to the address on the "Services" page.

Sorry for the wait - I just got to this now.

So I did a fresh upgrade and didn't run into any big trouble - everything went relatively smoothly, except that for some reason, the upgrade script didn't include the API in the upgrade zipfile. That's a bug, which I'll have to look at.
