ISSUE: Adding more submissions to new form, submission will not Update - clears the submission.
Procedure:
We have 14 forms setup.
7 of them have submissions.
As we entered submission data in to one of the other empty forms, and click Update, the screen refreshes and the data entered is cleared.
Looking back from "Forms", the form in question is empty.
We used another empty form to add submission - same effect - Update clears everything.
The settings on each for are identical (from backup forms).
There were no problems with the other forms submissions.
~~~~~~~
Also, from a 'cosmetic' point, using the max number of character settings and viewing submission, assuming max characters is 100, looks like the following
100 characters limit. 55rremaining characters.
and should look like
100 characters limit. 55 remaining characters. Note the space after 55.
B - I is away.
Hey Internaut,
Do any of your forms Views have filters on them? Just a thought: if you're adding submissions to a form that has a filter, you also need to configure all new submissions in that View to set the appropriate default values. Otherwise you'll get something like you described: the reason being, after creating the submission, the submission no longer contains the data required to fit into that View, so it "disappears".
Let me know. If it's not that, maybe it's a bug caused by the Form Backup module (it sounds like you used that to create the form, yes?)
And thanks for the bug with max char count. Yikes!
I'm compiling a list of small issues that have cropped up to be included in 2.1.1 - I'll include this, of course.
I found the problem: I'll step through it.
- From "Forms" opened a empty Form that was from a backup (our template).
- I input data into 13 fields in the Form.
- During data entry, I was called away for I don't remember how long - long enough it seems.
- I returned and completed entry of data in to the Form.
- I clicked Update button, and the screen resfreshed and fields were emptied.
- I repeated the process - same result.
- I returned to Forms menu and the Logon screen opened. Aha! I was logged out!
- I logged back in, and returned to the first Form, entered data, Updated, and the data stuck.
SUMMARY: It appears that I was logged out (due to time lapse), but was able to pick up where I left off, not aware that I was logged out, but still able to enter data, and auto-clear it
Once logged back in, data entry went smooth.
Would a trap at the Update button to send user to Login after a timeout
prevent the confusion?
Surprising! At this point:
Quote:5. I clicked Update button, and the screen resfreshed and fields were emptied.
It should have just booted you out right away. Were you logged in as an admin or client?
Logged in as admin.
Note: I am of the opinion that it was because I had left the screen for a long time. It wasn't until I clicked on "Forms" that I was roted to the logon screen. As mentioned above,
- 6. I repeated the process - same result.
7. I returned to Forms menu and the Logon screen opened. Aha! I was logged out!
8. I logged back in, and returned to the first Form, entered data, Updated, and the data stuck.
Was not booted to login... maybe, I'm special
Hey Internaut,
Regarding the cosmetic issue you spotted (the word/text count missing a space), what browser & OS are you on again? I just did a fresh installation and it looks fine to me.
