This has been on the wish list to be added as a feature in FormTools by other users for awhile now, but no change has yet been made to that Standard Filter in the View itself.
The only way I can think to get around this is bit clumsy, but would provide the ability to do some filtering. Copy your existing View as many times as you need to make additional Views, each containing a "Standard Filter" with a specific date range. For instance, one view could have a filter of anything after a specific date, or between two dates (such as a month range), etc. Create as many Views as you need basic filters (obviously awkward to create an infinite number of views for every scenario, so you might have a View that contains a filter for specific year, or specific month/year). Then make sure the particular client who needs this is assigned the view(s). You can easily switch between the views when you pull up the Form's list on your screen, as the views accessible to the particular user appear in a drop down box on the upper right.
