Actually Acrobat 9 has a "Create from Web" option that will step down through each level of a site to create a PDF. I did a sample with your docs.formtools.org site, and it works, but it captured the headers as part of every page.
You might be able to get around this by running the generator from your source html files. Let me know if you need a hand with this--I have Acrobat and would be happy to help out!

Yes, I've thought about this for a long time actually! I agree, a PDF version of the documentation would be terrific. I just haven't found a PDF generation script that works well enough for this purpose. Since the documentation changes very regularly, there needs to be a way to re-generate the PDFs each time. Updating the content twice isn't feasible.
If you or anyone knows of a good script for this, I'd be very interested to learn about it.
