Managing Data collecting fields

Hello,
The forms I have created are working just fine. Form Tools is a great product.

One question I have is: Once we have all the form fields data collecting, can we manage which one we might want turned off? The clients wants to receive the email with all the field data but now wants to only see certain fields collecting data. So if the form has 25 fields of information he wants to receive and email with 25 fields of information but now only wants 10 fields collecting data.
Can this be managed?

There's nothing within the core script for this, but you can add this functinonality via the Submission Pre-Parser module:
http://modules.formtools.org/submission_pre_parser/

That module lets you add your own code to "pre-parse" the form submissions before they get added to the data. It basically lets you do whatever you want to the data.

So in your case, you could create a new form rule that would ensure that certain form fields are empty. e.g. if your form fields were called field_1, field_2, field_3 and field_4, you could create a rule with this code:

PHP Code:

$_POST["field_1"] = "";
$_POST["field_2"] = "";
$_POST["field_3"] = "";
$_POST["field_4"] = ""; 


This would then ensure that no submissions would ever get to the database from those fields.
