Hey Ben,
As always.. you keep versioning Formtools into a better, and better product.
Now.. on to my suggestion. I've got several forms where there are multiple fields that have email address values in them.. ie: 2 separate text boxes with different email address, and another drop down selection that has an email address for a value. I'd like to be able to use any, and all, of them as different recipients of emails of the form submission. ie.. one goes to the form submitter, the other goes to his manager, and the final one goes to the submitters regional administrator (email in the "region" drop down the user selects). Not to mention the Client portion, which works just fine.
Currently it looks like you can't specify anyone but the single "user" (specified in "FORM EMAIL FIELD CONFIGURATION" section) and the Form Clients. It would be fantastic if I could add additional email sources from the form into this area so that I could select them when creating other email templates.
Let me know what you think... Thanks Ben!!

Hi Typer,
Great idea...! Yes, right now it's limited to a single user email. I can see how this would be useful...

Hey Ben,
Actually.. now that I look at the layout a little more.. the option could be located in the "Custom Recipient" dropdown option. It could say "Other Form Field" (or something like that) and give the standard Name field, and the Email field will have a drop down of all the form fields, allowing you to select where the email address will come from. I guess the same thing could be done for the Name field.. but I just mocked up one for the email.. Just an idea..

Yeah, that's not a bad approach...! But I think I'd probably try to keep the catalogue of meta field info - i.e. which form fields have special "email status" - at the same location it is now, so I'd expand the "Configure Email Form Fields" page. That way you'd only need to catalogue the name + email fields once for each form, and then pick them from the dropdown in the email template pages.
I've been giving this some thought and I really rather like the idea - a couple of times this would have been handy for my own work. However, this feature has to be pretty low priority right now - there's oodles of other things to fix + add first. Bug me from time to time about it. :-)

Hey Ben,
Yeah, that would be a better approach. It also would make it easier to control for a non-admin level. Anyway, thanks for keeping it in mind and keep up the great work!

Hi Ben et al
Just saw this post. For some time now (2+ years) I've had a requirement just like this... i.e. a form with multiple email addresses in it.
To have the ability to send an email to them all would be EXTREMELY helpful. And, maybe optionally to send a standard email to various recipients or to be able to select a specific (maybe different) email content for each recipient, too.
I guess the first part of this could be covered by simply being able to cc/bcc additional recipients of the same email content.
Getting any nearer to being able to implement it?

I think I'll work on this next. It's a relatively small feature and the script already lends itself very well to the addition. Plus it would be a really handy feature, there's no doubt about it.
However, I'm wrapping up a module right now so that's going to take precedence.

Hi Ben
Thanks for your feedback - glad to hear you think it's going to be both not too difficult and also a useful feature.
I'll watch this space for updates.
All the best for 2010.

Hey Andy,
Just a heads up. Turns out it's not quite as simple as I thought! But it's coming along pretty well. If I don't find time to work on it sooner, I'm taking a week off the week after next, so I can devote 2-3 days to wrapping this one up.

Hi Ben
Thanks for the update... and sorry, too, that the mods aren't as simple as you thought they might have been. However, it'll be a great facility once it's done.
Thanks again for all you great work on this.
Happy (belated) New Year!
Regards
Andy
