I have a Dell Inspiron 1501. I spilled water on the keyboard. After it dried out for a couple it boots up, welcomes and everything is good. Except i can't see the screen. If I tilt it all the way back in the right lighting I can see it, move the mouse and even did a system restore. Later I was able to hook directly to another monitor and it looks great.
My question is do I need to replace the whole screen or might the water just affected the Inverter & Data Cable and I just need to replace them? Replacing the screen as suggested by peter at geek squad phone number fixed the issue for me. Now the laptop is working fine without any issue.
