Hi Ben.
I have now updated to the latest version, 2.1.1 and also translated the 2.1.1 version to Swedish. BUT this translation update is not reflected in the swedish language file that is downloaded.
When I compare the english and swedish version I find tons of differences. My UI is useless in the new version because of this. A lot of information is missing, and is not replaced by english words. The spaces are just blank. See attached images at the bottom.
Any suggestions?
When I check my translation status on opentranslate I can't find anything needing to be translated or reviewed in any version.
P.s. Love the new version anyway :-)

Hey,
haha thanks, but yeesh! Strange it's not being padded out by the original English, at the very least...
Sounds like there's a problem with the export from Open Translate. I'll look at this as soon as I can - it may be a day or two, though. Sorry for the wait.

No worries. I stick with the english version for now.
By the way...been mentioning this to you before, but it feels odd not to be able to correct ones mistakes after a translation and review. I'm getting blocked out. Or should this request be posted in Opentranslates message system instead?
Keep it up Ben!

No - better use this forum instead. I'm hopelessly behind in the Open Translate messages...! I have grand plans to migrate the entire Open Translate script over to formtools.org and write a module to allow you to translate Form Tools right within it - but it's a long way off yet.
Surprising about not being able to review them... I thought it would permit it unless someone else was locking the translation. Curious, I'll have to look at that as well.
I'll be looking into the translation file problem today. Keep you posted.

Hey MrGarvin,
Alright, looks good! There was a small problem on the translations page - it was prompting the download of the old 2.0.0 translations files, not 2.1.1 as it said in the dropdown.
Mind downloading the file again and seeing how it looks?

Thanks!

Thanks Ben! Now I get the correct version and the missing items show up... BUT...
There's some obvious bad translations in the file that messes things up. The problem is the auto translations that has been made.
For instance, when you're code states:
Code: English At least one of {\$chars}
The auto translation also translates the word inside your brackets:
Code: Swedish Minst ett av {\\$ tecken}
Also observe the double back slash that is automatically added.
I did not pay attention enought when when I reviewed some of the phrases and now I can't "re-review" them as I said earlier (see image).
Maybe It's better if I attach an updated file in a message to you, or?
Thanks for your work Ben, once again. It's appreciated!

No worries! Thanks for letting me know about this - I'll fix it up today and post back then. Don't worry about sending me a file just yet; I'll need to update the database directly and figure out why it happened.
And sorry for the long response times: I've been out of town and just returned home to Vancouver today, so things have been a little hectic. Back to normal life soon...!

Another quick update on this.
So yes, the auto-translation messed up about 65 of the translations, in all languages. Unfortunately, there's no way to automate a fix, so I'm going to manually update each one. I have a little time today so I'll try to get this thing fixed. Once that's done, I'll look into Open Translate and why it's not allowing you to re-review.

Hi Peter,
It took an awful lot more work that anticipated, but it's finally done.
The translations were all fixed a couple of days ago and can be downloaded from the translations page.
I also updated Open Translate. Now, you can edit any of your own translations by clicking a new "UPDATE" in the Translate column. Translations may be edited up to the point where they've been reviewed by someone else; at that point, they're completely closed.
Auto-translated items are now marked with small "(g)" after the UPDATE button, so you can see at a what was originally provided by Google Translate (and thus more likely to be full of errors). After you update a translation provided by Google Translate, the translation is then marked as your own, so the "(g)" disappears.
Frankly, looking over the translation script it's clear it needs to be updated! The interface isn't [b]bad[/i] per se, but I really don't find it easy or quick enough to locate what you're looking for. Still, it'll have to suffice for the short term.
Do let me know if you have any trouble with it!
Thanks!
Ben

Hi Ben!
Thanks a bundle! Works excellent and I'm now doing a major overhaul of the entire translation to ensure all (???) language bugs are exterminated :-)
But, I'm sorry to inform that there's still some problems with the code that makes it a bit confusing for translators. Maybe these are some of those things you've already detected, but to help you out:
When I look at the "original" text shown above my translation field for reference, there are three instances when this text gets messed up and makes it prone for translation errors:
1. When you have links that needs to be correct the page shows the actual link, but not the correct code string that needs to be inserted together with the translation. (see pic below)
2. When you have an emphasis or bolder style, the style is shown, but not the code in the background (see pic below)
3. When you have form code inserted for multiple options (a couple of places) it gets really messy and this is what I saw (observe that all of your <div>-coding is missing in my translation field) (see pic below)
Hopefully this helps you in your bug tracking.
Thanks again!
//Peter
