Got stuck Upgrading from 2.0.4 to 2.1.4 (solved)

I ran into some trouble upgrading and now I'm stuck. I clicked the update button in my old install, downloaded the file that was prepared for me. I unzipped and uploaded that one. When I tried to log in, I got an error about an API function it couldn't find.

So, since I couldn't get to the upgrade script anymore, and it wasn't clear how I could just upgrade the API, I decided to just do a fresh install of the latest version. (this is after a backup)

The problem now, there doesn't seem to be any way to upgrade because the install script is not expecting a database to be present!

Is it possible to perform an upgrade from a fresh install?

In case anyone get themselves into this position, I'll tell you what I did to get things working again.

I restored the original un-upgraded application from a backup. Logged in and clicked on "update". Got to the update generation page on formtools.org and there, I added to the items already selected the API (which needed an upgrade, but was not selected for me) the Uploads Field Module and the Tiny MCE Field Module. You'll have to click on "show all" to see these modules if you don't have them installed already.

Downloaded this file, and performed the upgrade successfully.

Thanks for letting me know about this. The API not being selected by default is a bug - that should definitely be pre-selected! And I'll look into trying to get the Google Maps + File Upload field to always be included in upgrades from the 2.0.x track.
