How about be able to define custom template hooks? Basically provide a UI for embedding custom PHP via a module or something.

I sure would like something in that line. Right now I have a situation where I would like my client to be able to make categories and assign submits to these categories. I have the code, but no real way of combining the two.

This is now possible with yesterday's update. Page content can be HTML, PHP or Smarty. I'll provide some documentation on it this week.
