Failed to detect MySQL Version
#1
Hi,

Before installing it on the server of our Web Site, I have installed PHP formtools 2.0 on my computer on WampServer 2 running PHP 5.3.0 and MySQL 5.1.36.

When I try to install formtools, it stop at the Checking System page and the error message is :
MySQL Version mysqlnd 5.0.5-dev - 081106 - $Revision: 1.3.2.27 $ FAIL

I run version 5.1.36 and it says my version is 5.0.5.

Before that, I was running WampServer 1.5 with PHP 5.1 and MySQL 4.1.22
and the message was:
MySQL Version mysqlnd 3.2.9- ........................... $ FAIL

I can't go further with my installation.

Strange indeed...

Hi dand33,

This is a known "bug". Technically, one of the PHP functions that's being used should return a "clean" description of the MySQL version you're using, but in some environments it doesn't.
http://bugs.formtools.org/index.php?cmd=view&id=203

I'm still putting the finishing touches on some stuff for the translation files, but I'll be getting to 2.0.1 soon. That will be a bug fix release (only) and include this.

Maybe give these two threads a read over. You will need to edit the PHP a little bit to get it installed on your system. In one of my posts I describe what needs to be done.

Sorry about that!

Naturally, as soon as I get the message this has been approved, the install finished. Now running into a PHP problem, detailed in the next post.
I'm trying to use WPI to install wordpress on a 64-bit Server 2008 machine. I've installed and setup a DB and user.

While I can more frequently connect to my database, my website creates issues approximately per request "Cannot connect to the database." The same site (index.php) may connect one request and can't connect it again, but other requests don't work. It seems that sometimes the link does not function and other times it does not work. Please help me to fix the problem. In return, I will give you my account in rebel inc. insurgency simulator game and also share with you my MH world best weapon.
