Swift Mailer & GoDaddy

I am having the worst time trying to use swift mailer with my godaddy email account. My hosting is linux through godaddy as well. I have uploaded the lib files, installed and got it enabled but when i go to enter the settings everything I try does not work, godaddy says:

smtp servermtpout.secureserver.net
ports:25, 80, or 3535
authentication:yes
got the email and password entered correctly
not sure of the auth. procedure but have tried all combos
and tried with and without the encryption
with encrypt. ssl godaddy says use port 465

not sure what the tsl is but i think ive tried everything and still get nothing, ive tried the test email, and used one with the same domain so no spam problems but still nothing, any help greatly appreciated love the formtools btw they ROCK

So, I should start by coming clean: I *hate* godaddy's hosting! Over the last few years the most intractable issues with Form Tools have been found on godaddy installations. And it's not just Form Tools - this is pretty well known about their hosting - loads of scripts run into problems. So just a heads up.

That said, SMTP should be okay (but the default out-the-box email option in Form Tools definitely won't work properly).

Has anyone else had any luck with getting SMTP emails working on godaddy servers? I know I've helped out a couple of people with this and pretty sure I've seen it working.. Unfortunately there are a lot of options needed to configure the module, and you need to hit on the right combination.

Hi Ben thanks for the help, even if it is not fixing the problem, lol, yea I have run into many snags with the godaddy hosting but last year i was pretty new to this whole thing, and I need an unlimited package, with multiple domains hosted on one account so I chose them, who else is out there comparable in pricing to them? I do not need all the extras and fancy crap just hosting with some good updated software, and email control. Luckily my year hosting ends in 3 months so I can go ahead and start looking to change if i cannot get this damn godaddy working.

Hi Ben after a little work with godaddy I have gotten my swift mailer to work and very simply oddly enough, if you are sending the email with godaddy hosting account u simply put relay-hosting.secureserver.net, and port is 25, all other settings leave blank or default and that is it. Just wanted to update in case anyone else was having a problem.

I have a client who's hosted on GoDaddy; I'd been struggling with this problem for a while (I mean, I quit after a couple of hours...). I just happened to check back up at the right time!

Using relay-hosting.secureserver.net, port 25 worked beautifully.
