Advanced or Multiple Search
#1
Does anyone know how easy it would be to add a custom search option to the API so that users could search by more than one criteria?

Example: Search by field 1 and field 2 but not field 5

or: search by field 1 or field 2

or: search by field 1 and field 2 and field 3 (every field in the form)

etc?

Hey Harmony,

This is a great idea. It's definitely do-able, but it would still take a couple of hours to puzzle through.

The ft_api_show_submissions function which lists submissions from the FT database currently allows a number of different option parameters; it would just be a matter of adding a search option to allow for this.

But I'm afraid it's going to have to wait! I have a lot of other stuff to focus on first.

Sorry, Harmony. Bug me about this again sometime in the future.

I sure could use this kind functionality. I'm currently rolling this out to my users, and it's the first thing they noticed and said was going to be a problem.

Not only would they need to able to say Field A contains "X" AND Field B contains "Y". They would also like to specify value ranges. equal to, less than, greater than, between.

I'd like to see a date filter option for the standard view filter. I would like to filter out results with entires that are prior to current date.

The buyer can be of any nature. In the professional world, especially in the marketing term, we meet with many annoying guys. And if we lack the rush paper service experience, then we cannot satisfy them all. And with that we can also loss our sales.
