RE: Update not reflected in other language file - Ben - Sep 19th, 2011 Hi Peter, Thanks for the post! :-) Quote:But, I'm sorry to inform that there's still some problems with the code that makes it a bit confusing for translators. I totally agree. When I was updating the script I found a few things really unclear. What it *should* do is display every last character in the content to translate, so if it contained HTML it would show HTML - including links, like you mentioned. It's very unclear right now. What I think I'll do is simply output the content to translate in a textarea instead - or possible encode the whole thing so you'd see all characters properly. That would eliminate all the problems you noticed. Timeline-wise... I'll need a week, at least! I have to finish off the new demo and catch up with support. But I'll post back when it's fixed. Again, thanks for letting me know. :-) - Ben RE: Update not reflected in other language file - mrGarvin - Sep 19th, 2011 No problem for me Ben. Don't burn out! :-) I'm aware of it and double check it against your english version, but for new translators it would help a lot! //Peter RE: Update not reflected in other language file - mrGarvin - Sep 21st, 2011 Hi Ben! Gee... awful sorry to bother you again, but there still seems to be a problem with the export from opentranslate. The version on your translation page is not the same as my latest translation, which I did a couple of days ago. I just double checked it and (for instance) the phrase "phrase_form_placeholders" is different from the file on opentranslate. So, something's still messed up. Further more.... shouldn't there be some heading information in the file downloaded? Such as version nr, "translated by" and more? I think this was the case earlier if my memory serves me. Maybe a "last updated" aswell. Could help. //Peter RE: Update not reflected in other language file - Ben - Sep 22nd, 2011 Oh boy, there *have* been problems! I'll look at this today. - Ben RE: Update not reflected in other language file - Ben - Sep 22nd, 2011 Hi Peter, Okay, I think I caught the problem. Every hour, any changes are supposed to be exported to formtools.org to download. But since there's such a huge amount of info, I included a log table to keep track of the last edit dates for translations in each language-project-version. This lets the export script only bother exporting things that actually changed. However, that table wasn't being updated properly so the export script didn't know it had to export the language. Let me know if you continue to have any trouble! (I don't mind in the slightest - far better I know about it! ) - Ben |
