Was working - just died - miserably

Had the beta installed, set up and was going to implement the Deep Blue template. All was well yesterday. Today, going to the site/formtools takes forever and never does load in IE8. I contacted the host (not the brightest pixel on the screen), waited until they 'escallated' it and was told that FireFox got a redirect error. I tried it with FF and got the following:

The page isn't redirecting properly.
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
* This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

I hate cookies. Some browsers want them off, others on and some don't know what they want. Since 90% of the web is IE compatible (as it can be), I cater to the evil one - - IE.

Any idea what this is about?

Meanwhile. I am going to UNinstall it all, then re-install it all - again. Maybe by then, someone will reply here with a fix.

Sorry you're having trouble, but actually this surprises me...!

The "can't redirect" problem was a 2.0.x issue which I thought I'd handled better in 2.1.x (at least, it handles better with the test scenarios I was using... guess it doesn't cover whatever changed on your system).

That problem used to occur when the database information or $g_root_dir value in your config.php file was no longer correct. This can occur if the hosting provider moves your domain to a different location on the server, or the database info has changed. But like I said, it should be fixed in 2.1.0... hmm.

If not, let me know and I'll try to help debugging it remotely - it'll take a bit of back and forth.

In reviewing my steps, I was editing the Deep Blue template. I saved it, logged out and went on to other things. It was the next visitI I couldn't get the site in IE, and the error in FireFox.

I don't want to waste your time Ben. I deleted both the database and formtools folder. Re-installed, and am at the stage where I'm about to test a form. So, if I may, I'll take a rain check in the event it happens again

UPDATE:
Not sure why the errors occured, but after a good clean install it is working superbly.

I am chalking it up to being pilot error (that's me) that caused the issue.

maybe this will help. I had the same problem because I forgot to change Logout URL when uploading from local server online. I changed it, deleted cookies and everything was ok.

Thanks Lina,

I think that may have been my pilot error. I had to update everything anyway, and with the way this updates so easily without losing anything, restoring to updates was a piece of cake.
